Alberto Giacometti expressed transparent presence in his work. Students will learn about the importance of "gesture" when sculpting. They will create their own Giacometti influenced stick figure in wire and learn traditional concepts of positive and negative shapes and suspending line in three dimensions.
Based on the work of Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, students will learn to create their own Klimt inspired
"Forrest of Birch Trees."

Van Gogh inspired "Starry Harbor"

In this project students will learn about using mixed media and blending mediums of oil pastels and
liquid watercolor to create a Van Gogh inspired piece of art using our local culture in the process.
